Terms & Conditions
Version: v1.2 · Effective: 01 Sep 2026 · Last updated: 22 Sep 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the services, mobile application and public website operated by Travel Sathi ("Travel Sathi", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, purchasing a Platform Fee / Ride Wallet booking, or publishing a route on the platform, you agree to these Terms.
1. About the Service
Travel Sathi is a fixed-route, recurring office commute marketplace. We connect passengers with independent, verified providers (car owners and bike riders) who publish recurring routes along with daily per-seat fares. Travel Sathi operates the technology platform — it does not own or operate vehicles itself. Passengers pay a single Travel Sathi Membership (₹399/month, independent of vehicle type) for platform access and use a Ride Wallet (with a 30-day reserve requirement per seat-booking) to fund actual ride-day consumption. Providers pay a separate monthly subscription — Bike ₹299/month or Car ₹699/month — per vehicle type they publish.
The platform is not a general on-demand taxi service, a courier / parcel / logistics platform, or a goods transportation service. We are limited to recurring passenger commute matching along provider-published routes.
We do not provide transport services ourselves. Each commute ride is operated by an independent provider who has registered, KYC-verified and published a route on our platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of India to use the platform. By using the platform you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements. If you are using the platform on behalf of an organisation (employer, society, fleet operator), you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
3. Accounts
You must register using a valid Indian mobile number. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at admin@travelsathi.online if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may suspend or terminate any account that provides false information, misuses the platform, or violates these Terms. Administrative actions are recorded in the platform's audit log.
4. Service model
The platform operates on the following model:
- Providers publish recurring routes with fixed origin, destination, pickup/drop points, timings, days-of-week and a configurable number of available seats.
- Providers set their own monthly seat fare, within the platform's configured minimum and maximum limits.
- Passengers search and select a published route and purchase a monthly commute pass.
- Daily attendance is recorded through the platform's attendance flow.
- If the regular provider is unavailable on a given day, the platform may assign a backup provider according to its backup rules (see Section 6).
5. Platform Fee / Ride Wallet booking
- Passes are sold on a monthly cycle and renew only if you opt in to auto-renew.
- Payment is processed by Razorpay and/or Cashfree (RBI-compliant payment aggregators operating in India).
- The pass covers a specific route / provider pair and is non-transferable.
- Passengers do not pay a second fare for an approved backup ride.
- Provider earnings are settled according to actual service delivered, as recorded in the platform's immutable ledger.
6. Attendance & backup
Both passenger and provider mark daily attendance through the platform. Statuses include Going, Delayed and Not Going. If the provider marks themselves unavailable within the platform's absence window, or fails to confirm by departure time minus a configured buffer, the platform's 11-criteria backup matcher may assign a verified backup provider.
Backup assignment does not constitute a new booking for the passenger — it is part of the original Platform Fee / Ride Wallet booking. Provider earnings are reallocated according to the platform's entitlement rules.
7. Provider obligations
- Maintain valid KYC, driving licence and vehicle documents at all times (see our KYC & Document Policy).
- Keep the published route, timings and pickup/drop points accurate.
- Not charge passengers any amount outside the platform — no cash top-ups, no side deals.
- Mark attendance truthfully every operating day.
- Cooperate with backup assignments when activated.
- Comply with applicable Indian traffic and transport law.
8. Passenger obligations
- Mark attendance truthfully every commute day.
- Be at the designated pickup point at the agreed time.
- Treat providers and co-riders respectfully.
- Do not use the service for goods transport, parcel delivery or any non-commute purpose.
- Report safety incidents promptly via the in-app SOS flow.
9. Payments & taxes
- Pass price is set by the provider within the platform's limits; the platform may display indicative ranges.
- GST is charged on every transaction as applicable and shown on the invoice.
- Payment instrument data is handled by the payment gateway; the platform does not store full card / UPI credentials.
- Refunds (where applicable) are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
10. Cancellations & refunds
Cancellations by either side, refunds (full / prorated), processing timelines, and exception cases are detailed in the Refund & Cancellation Policy. By purchasing a pass, you agree to that policy.
11. Suspension
We may suspend a user's account or a provider's published routes for:
- Breach of these Terms or referenced policies (Provider Agreement, Safety Policy, KYC Policy).
- Document expiry without timely renewal.
- Repeated safety incidents, fraud signals, or verified misconduct.
- Legal direction by a competent authority.
Suspensions are reviewed by our moderation team. Where applicable, suspension notices include a reason and a remediation path. The platform does not automatically suspend providers for document expiry — instead, expiry alerts are dispatched and the admin team takes an action after review.
12. Document verification
Provider KYC, driving licence, vehicle RC, insurance, fitness, PUC and any other required documents are verified against official sources where available and stored using private signed-URL storage. The platform's automated expiry monitor sends reminders at 60 / 30 / 15 / 7 / 1 day milestones and on the expiry day itself. See the KYC & Document Policy.
13. Ratings & reliability
After each commute day, passengers may rate their provider. Provider reliability is computed from on-time rate, attendance, ratings and incident history. The score is public on the platform and influences search ranking.
14. Safety & SOS
The in-app SOS button pins your live location, alerts our 24×7 safety desk and notifies your nominated emergency contacts. Misuse of SOS is grounds for immediate suspension. See the Safety Policy for the full framework.
15. Fraud
False KYC documents, fabricated vehicle documents, fake attendance, fake incidents and any attempt to manipulate ratings or earnings are treated as fraud and may result in immediate account suspension, referral to law enforcement, and reversal of associated ledger entries. Reversals are recorded as adjustment rows in the immutable ledger; original entries are never edited.
16. Intellectual property
The platform's name, logo, design, source code, generated content and trademarks are owned by Travel Sathi. You retain ownership of content you upload (profile photo, documents, ratings) but grant us a non-exclusive licence to use it for operating the service.
17. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the platform is limited to the amount of subscription fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages.
The platform is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
18. Changes to the service or Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to you by email or in-app at least 14 days in advance. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance.
19. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by writing to admin@travelsathi.online. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, on legal direction, or if we discontinue the service in your area.
20. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at New Delhi, India. Consumer complaints may also be raised through the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
21. Contact
