Provider Agreement
Version: v1.0 · Effective: 22 Sep 2026 · Last updated: 22 Sep 2026
This Provider Agreement ("Agreement") forms a binding contract between Travel Sathi ("Travel Sathi") and you, the provider, when you publish a route on the platform or otherwise operate a vehicle on the platform. It supplements our Terms & Conditions and our KYC & Document Policy; in case of conflict, this Agreement prevails for provider-specific obligations.
1. Eligibility
To operate as a provider you must:
- Be at least 18 years old and a resident of India;
- Hold a valid Indian driving licence for the vehicle class you intend to operate;
- Own or have lawful possession of a vehicle that is registered, insured and otherwise roadworthy under Indian law;
- Have a valid mobile number and (where required for payouts) an Indian bank account in your name;
- Not be disqualified from holding a licence or operating a commercial vehicle under any court order or government notification.
2. Onboarding
Provider onboarding is a two-step process:
- Account creation — register as a car owner or bike rider in the mobile application and complete basic profile information.
- KYC + vehicle registration — upload identity, address proof, selfie, driving licence, vehicle RC and other vehicle documents (insurance, fitness, PUC, permit where applicable). Review typically completes within 1–3 business days.
Until KYC is approved you cannot publish routes or accept passengers. Approval is at Travel Sathi's sole discretion and may be revoked at any time.
3. Documentation & accuracy
You represent and warrant that all documents and information you provide are true, accurate, current and complete. You agree to:
- Maintain valid KYC documents, driving licence and vehicle documents at all times;
- Renew documents before expiry;
- Upload renewed documents through the platform's re-upload flow — informal communication is not sufficient;
- Notify us within 7 days of any change in your information (address, vehicle, licence number, bank account).
For the full document framework see our KYC & Document Policy.
4. Vehicle & route accuracy
You must keep your published route, pickup/drop points, timings, days-of-week, vehicle make/model and available seat count accurate. Substantive changes must be communicated in advance and accepted by active subscribers, where the change materially affects their commute.
You may not solicit passengers outside the platform for routes published on the platform. Doing so is grounds for suspension and may forfeit accrued earnings.
5. Pricing, commission & settlement
- You set the monthly seat fare for your route, within the platform's configured minimum and maximum limits (currently enforced server-side; the platform reserves the right to reject fares outside the band).
- Total Platform Fee / Ride Wallet booking revenue is allocated according to the platform's entitlement rules (per-ride-day delivered, prorated for absences).
- The platform deducts applicable fees and GST before settlement. Currently no separate platform commission is charged during the launch phase; any future commission will be communicated at least 30 days in advance and recorded here.
- Settlements are made to your verified bank account via the platform's payout pipeline, after applicable deductions and adjustments.
- Where applicable, TDS / TCS is deducted and reported per Indian tax law.
6. Attendance
You must mark attendance every operating day via the in-app attendance flow:
- Going by the configured cutoff time on the day of commute.
- Delayed if you expect to be late (provide an ETA; passengers are notified).
- Not Going as early as possible to give the backup matcher time to assign a replacement.
Failure to mark attendance by the departure-time buffer may trigger automatic backup assignment and is treated as absence for settlement purposes.
7. Backup-provider cooperation
If the platform assigns you as a backup provider for a route where the regular provider is absent, you agree to honour the assignment according to the published route parameters. Backup rides are compensated at the same rate as the original provider for that day.
8. Passenger conduct & safety
You agree to:
- Treat all passengers with respect, regardless of gender, religion, caste or any other protected characteristic.
- Not charge any fare outside the platform — no cash, no tip coercion, no side-channel payments.
- Drive safely and obey all applicable traffic laws.
- Not consume alcohol or any intoxicating substance before or during a commute day.
- Honour women-only and women-preference preferences where the passenger has opted in.
- Report safety incidents via the in-app SOS or incident flow within 24 hours.
9. Tax & compliance
You are responsible for declaring your earnings and paying applicable income tax. GST on transactions collected by the platform is shown on the invoice and remitted by Travel Sathi per applicable law. You agree to provide accurate PAN and bank details for payouts.
10. Document expiry
The platform automatically monitors your documents and sends reminders at 60 / 30 / 15 / 7 / 1 day milestones and on the expiry day (admin + provider notifications). Continued operation with expired KYC, driving licence, RC, insurance, fitness or PUC is not permitted.
The platform does not automatically suspend providers for document expiry — instead, the admin team reviews each case and takes action after a remediation window. Repeated, wilful expiry may lead to route pause or account suspension.
11. Fraud & misrepresentation
Submitting falsified KYC documents, fabricated vehicle documents, fake attendance, fabricated incidents or any attempt to manipulate ratings or earnings is treated as fraud. Consequences may include immediate suspension, reversal of associated ledger entries, withholding of unpaid earnings, and referral to law enforcement. Financial adjustments are recorded as append-only entries in the immutable ledger.
12. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate this Agreement for:
- Material breach of this Agreement or referenced policies;
- Repeated driver-side safety incidents or fraud findings;
- Loss of licence or vehicle registration;
- Cessation of business in your area;
- Legal direction by a competent authority.
On termination, your routes are paused, your pending payouts are settled after the standard reconciliation window, and your personal data is handled per our Privacy Policy.
13. Insurance
You must maintain valid third-party vehicle insurance (and, where you carry paying passengers, appropriate commercial / passenger-vehicle insurance) for the entire duration that any route you publish is active on the platform. The platform does not provide vehicle or passenger insurance.
14. Regulatory compliance
You agree to comply with all applicable Indian laws, including the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, state-specific transport rules, and any local requirements of the area where you operate. Where the platform holds or is pursuing a licence from a transport authority, you agree to operate within any conditions attached to that licence. See our Regulatory & Compliance page for the platform's current status.
15. Acceptance
By tapping "I agree" during provider onboarding, or by publishing a route on the platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to this Agreement, the Terms & Conditions, the KYC & Document Policy and the Safety Policy. Your acceptance is recorded in our policy-consent audit log with the policy version, your user ID, IP address and timestamp.
